The absolutely stunningFlorida State Park is a track and a beautiful tropical beach dune. Urban sprawl is not the case reached the beach and the park is quiet most of the year. You could not even follow one!

The park is rich in history

The beach has some interesting history than that which is defined as Air Force Beach during World War II. What is now Palm Beach International Airport was an Air Force base at that time. Apparently the soldiers fairly wild beach parties accused, it was(Not official) called Air Force Beach!

Some time later, John D. MacArthur bought the land, wants to be an unspoiled part of southern Florida to keep safe. He donated the land in 1970 and the park (named after him) opened in 1989.

Barrier? What barrier?

MacArthur Beach State Park is located on a barrier island that is long and narrow, separates the mainland from the sea. Although condominiums and hotels have taken over many of Florida's beautiful barrierIslands that is not - is still "au natural"!

Be looking up ...

... Turtles! Rare species of sea turtles to nest here, including the endangered loggerhead and leatherback turtle, much less known. They are probably not the turtles, but perhaps evidence that he has seen about. If you really want to see the turtles, there are ranger guided hikes in May and June. Book in advance through the office - these tours are very popular.

Youmaybe some pink spatulas to the park, eh? pink spoonbills are fascinating birds, feathers are colored pink ("Pink Flamingo") and formed the end of their spoon bills.

Bird watching is sometimes possible, ornithology tilted.

Stranding It!

The surprising thing of this glorious Florida State Park is that very few people come here. Perhaps because there are many public beaches to the north andSouth MacArthur Beach State Park is quiet. Serene. And they are probably the two miles of sandy beach all to yourself!
